Hello, Dalí!

friends forever!

Well, it's the end of an era. Hobby Lobby has put all of their Amsterdam Acrylics on Clearance and they don't plan on restocking them once they're gone. RIP, my friends.

I want to write about a few things, namely my fascination with this lady named Helen Ward (aka Birdface).

A few years ago, while Googling "funky weddings", I stumbled on her husband's Flickr page and fell in LOVE with her wedding dress/jewelry/accessories/everything. It's exactly how I wanted my wedding. Well, time went by and I committed to a color scheme and things didn't work out the way that I wanted it (it's probably for the best). But, these images are still a huge part of my inspiration so I got permission from her to post them:

Months and months later, I found her site called Birdface's Weblog and now I'm a regular visitor. Her artwork/graphic design/everything is just terrific! &, lucky her, this week she has started selling some jewelry she has designed through this website. Here's a sneak peek:

If you've got the time, I urge you to go poke around her blog

Here's a pretty picture I did of one of my cats, Porsche-

The other things to note is this beautiful, new necklace that I created since yesterday:

& the beginning of a painting for a purpose of which I can't disclose until March. Sorry...

I never did post images of ART's Christmas present, so you're in for a treat today. Meet Dalí, aka the Dalí Dolly (it's so much fun to say it that way)

He has a removable velcro clock that says "Levame" on it, which is Spanish for "take me". Dali used to say "Llevame. Llevame. Soy una droga."(Take me, take me, I am a drug- referring to the movement he was involved in... aka Surrealism)

I took the Dali Dolly to the High to see the Dali Exhibit & I wanted to get a picture of it in front of The Persistence of Memory, but the guards caught me. So, the next best thing was a picture of Dali and Frida (the doll ART made for my b-day last year) outside of the High.

All righty. Well, I just accidentally smeared purple paint across my lower lip so I guess I've gotta take care of that. Tomorrow's also the baby shower, which I am SO excited about ('cause I made this painting for the mom-to-be, remember?) See you then,

  1. Porche needs to be on Vogue, or whatever feline version of Vogue there is. :)
