Peeps Art!

Happy Easter! Whether or not you celebrate the resurrection of Jesus or the pagan motifs of fertility, I hope that you and yours have a terrific day today! (I know that my parents definitely deserve a day off! :)

Each year, The Washington Post hosts a peep diorama contest: the Peeps Show. They got over a thousand entries this year (the 5th annual contest) & create a slideshow of the finalists! They even have a section for kids' peeps creations!

Here are some masterpeepses based on famous artwork:

Georgia O'Peep (this one' my favorite!)

A recreation of Warhol's Marilyn Monroe

Andy Warhol and Marilyn MonPeep in a gallery showcasing Warhol and Haring!

Recreation of a Renoir

Edward Hopper's Nighthawks done with peeps!

Emperor Qin's Terra Cotta Army

After Norman Rockwell

The Sistine Chapel
Van Gogh's Bedroom, complete with a Van Gogh peep missing half an ear

This peep museum has a peep Matisse (under the front of the plane) and a peep Magritte (on the top right)

M.C. Escher

Union City HS/MS did these altered peep projects, based on Vermeer, Pollock, and Kahlo

Peep art students

& some masterpeepses not based on real artwork but are still really cool:
